The academic requirement includes an exam in which officers are allowed to consult their textbooks and notes at the end of a legal course on the Immigration and Nationality Act and the Fourth Amendment, which outlines when officers can and can’t conduct searches and seizures.Well, that explains a lot about why these ICE agents are conducting illegal searches and seizures.
Rather than better train and prepare officers, ICE shortened the training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Georgia from 13 weeks to eight... and then shortened training to six weeks.

I went to FLETC in 1981.
I was in a mixed 'land management agencies' class.
The course was 10 weeks at that time, but later was extended to 19 weeks. After that you went to a training location in the field for another 6 months before you were considered ready to assume your full duties as an LEO.
So now it is 6 weeks! And then you are on the street? Ridiculous.
And the training in the Immigration and Nationality Act and the Fourth Amendment does not seem to be having much impact.
