Maybe we won't have to nuke ourselves. Maybe we'll pollute the environment so badly that these little buggers will give us various cancers, and kill us off.

The prevalence of microplastics in human samples is staggering.

I know it's meaningless (and probably too late), but I try to avoid plastics as much as I can. For example, we use canvas bags for groceries. And we recently got some ziplock bags from Costco that are silicone, washable and reusable (no more baggies). Not 100% better (it's still silicone), but better (as near as I can tell).
