Jordan’s Furniture had a promotion earlier this year: buy furniture and if UConn hoops men and women both make the championship game—your entire furniture purchase is free. $50 million of qualifying furniture is eligibie.

Both teams are in the Final 4, both teams are 1 win away.

Now, Jordan insures against this. But I believe it’s purchased it’s insurance in the past—from Berkshire.

Have a hunch this was an expensive policy, maybe the least crazy contest Jordan’s has ever offered. I’ve always laughed off these promotions “if the Red Sox win the WS with a 4 game sweep”or “if some one hits a HR in last 8 weeks on a marked spot in Center Field” lol but I actually thought of participating in THIS one —just didn’t need furniture :). I think odds then were legitimately just over 15-1…

UConn women preseason were FAVORED to make the final 4 and probably the championship game and UConn men were a top 5 or so team…
