At this moment of time it's quite possible.
People said in 2016 that Trump will never win the nomination. They didn't see that the energy, anger, bottled up frustrations was what he was catering to if only with words.
I feel the same is happening on the Left - -in a tribal society both sides will pick extremes. The Right went MAGA and it is quite possible the Left will go AOC, Mamdani, and even Gavin who pretends to be Centrist but he's skilled at walking the fine line. Sadly the Dems I'd actually *vote for* - Beshear, Shapiro, Emanuel to name a few --- i sometimes fear they will be the Jeb Bushes of the 2028 primary though it's too too early to judge this.
All i know LM is this: Coastal Progressives helped create the MAGA vote. Trump harvested it.

AOC, Bernie and the extreme left seem to now have control of the dem party. They back Zohran Mamdani. Like Obama, Mamdani has a smooth orator speaking voice. It is the reason why Obama won, good looks and the gift of gab (with the help of his teleprompter) making a lot of promises.

I"m hoping for a few things:
1.)First, i want to see some of Mamdani's "opinions" that is shared with Progressives on campus, AND amongst many people in the world for generations be allowed to WIN thereby easing fears of aspiring politicians who are now demure out of fear of certain things. And i don't want it to be out of a hick town, I want it out of NYC.... what a perfect compliment to London. I won't certain "elements" to be emboldened -- and in power.
2.)I want a good warning shot to Republicans who continue to want to screw with Medicaid, medicare, Social Security and ACA: Keep doing it, and eventually you'll also face a 7-2 SCOTUS and all you have left are your guns, gay porn, and alimony collectors.

The ACA subsidies were a trap set by Obama. His “affordable” care act never was affordable and in fact made health care worse but the GOP can’t be seen to be cutting it.
