After screaming for years that people like Colin Kaepernick disrespected the flag, republicans in mass have taken to disrespecting the flag. Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump, the former president's daughter-in-law, Donald Trump Jr., his eldest son, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, and Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene have all been promoting images of the American flag being displayed upside down, some at half-mast, or actually displaying the American flag upside-down.
And now the Heritage Foundation.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, also posted an image on its X account of an upside-down American flag flying next to a flag with its logo. Heritage is the group behind the GOP’s Project 2025 playbook, a blueprint for ways to reshape the federal government in the event of a Republican presidential win in 2024.Elon Musk referenced the civil war that preceded the collapse of the Roman empire and former republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also invoked the fall of the Roman Empire in a video statement.
So, it's bad when anyone else disrespects the flag but a cause for celebration when the Unified Reich does it.

It may be dangerous to dismiss them as a cult. No one took the National Socialist Workers Party, and it's head, seriously until it won a nontrivial amount of the parliament. By then it had taken on a life of its own.

The supreme irony in the above is that MAGA's descent into the swirling swamp of "misinformation" is the self-perpetuating cause of the distress.
They embrace felons, reject the constitution and laws of this country. They support an authoritarian administration that said the quiet parts out loud: they want a "unified Reich" led by a felon who coincidentally spouts the same sentiments used at the giant populist rallies of the 3rd Reich.

United States Code Title 4 Chapter 1 § 8(a):
"The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."

The J6'er insurrectionists weren't flying it because they were worried about 'instances of extreme danger to life or property', they were engaged in an insurrection and it was their phony excuse that the Republic was in danger. They had no right to flight it upside down when they were the ones putting the Republic in danger.

Umm, Dementia Don being found guilty of 34 felonies by a jury of his peers who examined the evidence and testimony is not by any twisty stretch of the imagination an example of "extreme danger to life or property" but, rather, simply the U.S. justice system functioning as it should, without fear or favor.
In short, a sign of disrespect for the flag by the cult hive.
