For any shrewds that are interested, I included a few tidbits from attending the meeting:
-outstanding weekend where learning and collegial spirit and social scene/ meet ups were terrific.
-Gabelli, VALUEX & Markel conferences were all very good and filled to capacity.
-CHI Arena was packed-seemed a Lot busier than last year.
-lots of international attendees, esp. from Asia.
-security was very prominent.
-pleased to see a good number of young 20-40yo attendees than last year.
-saw neither WEB or CTM mixing with the public on the exhibit floor.
-did see Greg Abel on the floor who graciously allowed me and others a picture with him.
-chatted briefly and with with Guy Spier, Larry Cunningham, Adam Mead & Chris Bloomstran who were all very pleasant.
-saw Ron Olson and Chris Davis by themselves casually strolling back to their hotel, like everyone else.
-dined at Gorat's where they said WEB has been much less visible dining out since COVID.
-saw WEB get appropriately frustrated and cut off a proxy proposal speaker #5 who was crossing the line wrt criticism of Bill Gates.
-residents and service staff of Omaha were terrific.
-Borsheim's was packed Sunday and displayed a $19M huge Diamond ring (ONLY $15.2M with shareholder discount).WEB has not been there on Sundays since 2019.
-I will re-listen to the meeting a couple more times as a 20K+ packed arena with activity limits my focus a bit.
-hotels tend to price gouge a bit, $1200/4 nights in my case.
-overall, I do Strongly suggest attending the BRK weekend if you can. Each of the last 2 years it exceeded my already lofty expectations.
