While this is a fustercluck, all around, I do question the Russia attacking Lithuania bit. The Russian military is so severely degraded that I think they would have trouble mounting such an operation. Plus, even if the US wimps-out, the rest of NATO would be there. Russia (even before Ukraine) would have been challenged to face that. Now, they'd have no chance.
Of course, that doesn't mean Putin isn't stupid enough to try it.

any of the baltic states or an incursion over finlands border would set off this scenario...the only thing W. Europe can do now is to play for time by kissing the ring s necessary until re-armament....even Irelnd is now enraged, inviting Connor McGregor, a convicted rapist in Ireland to the Waffle House as guest of honor by Trump was a slap in the face of the Irish PM and the diaspora....

we know you cant rule out batshi+ from authoritarians. sometimes its very predictable, e.g., this week in turkey.
but one cannot rule out the most critical\logical scenario hinges on lifting sanction for trump's boss putin.
this allows russia to take a 'break'
- much needed respite on recruitment recovery for the ukraine escalation or another hot border conflict
- relieves all pressure on funding the war economy even at the 50% corruption rate
