Also, trump was apparently defiantly shouting “Fight!” and pumping his fist in the air as the secret service was ushering him off the stage. That’s not a good omen. It will surely energize all of his supporters to new levels of fervor. I hope Biden steps up his own security precautions, but doesn’t curtail his own appearances because of this.
I also hope Biden calls Trump to offer his sincere sympathy, support and good wishes. Knowing Biden, I’m sure he will.

I’m going to slightly discount his words “fight” in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. That’s a natural, emotional response to the situation. What is more important is what he says with some time to compose a thoughtful statement.
