I am feeling a bit bearish in the next few years....and am thinking to diversify more abroad, but with the same ease in Fidelity....I am looking at currency. Euro and swiss franc.
I did the Euro for a year, opportunistically buying on lows when I was planning to buy my retirement place in France a couple of years ago. I managed to shave 8 % off (averaged) , the spread was over 11 % but my timing is never exact :-)
anyone else looking ? as another option to T-bills, ? If so I would appreciate your thoughts. or should I just follow Warren into Japan.. ?

Not sure if I am understanding you correctly here, but it should be noted that Buffett is *short* Japanese Yen denominated bonds, not long.

not bondds.. actual currency.

Warren is short the actual currency. Which is why Berkshire reports billion dollar gains when the US dollar strengthens against the Yen.
I have no advice on whether it is wise for you to invest in low yielding Japanese bank deposits - just trying to point out that this is the opposite of "following Buffett" since it sounded like you thought he was investing in JPY.

ah.. I see the confusion.. I forgot the laughing emoji with the comment on following buffet. I dont short, margin or any of the more "sophisticated" stuff. I'm purely buy and sell.and until I played the euro where I actually lowered significantly the cost of my property purchase there, I started buying euro to ensure I actually had the correct amount when it came to closing as, over there it can easily take 6-9 months,, mine took a year....
