A notably severe flu season is in progress currently. According to the CDC, who can get information out only through You Tube, there have been 24 million cases, 310,000 hospitalizations, and 13,000 deaths so far. This is not the Avian variant, just the familiar flu we deal with each season.
There is an effective vaccine available, and I urge everyone to seek a flu shot as soon as may be to protect yourself, your family, and others.

Got my Fluzone 9-23. I tell people who are afraid/suspiscious of the shots to imagine Gunsmoke, with Miss Kitty, Festus and the Sheriff. A fellow rides into town and hands the Sheriff some wanted posters, and the Sheriff puts a wanted poster for Kid Flu outside his office, the feed store, and the Saloon. Now has anything changed in the town? No. But we've now got the system primed to recognize Kid Flu when he shows up. Miss Kitty is still Miss Kitty, Festus is still Festus, and the Sheriff is still the Sheriff.

Got mine a few months ago.
We all get our shots. I was a bit lax in my youth regarding flu (though I got everything else in childhood...mom saw that that**). But as I age, I get pretty much everything now. Except pneumonia. I haven't had that shot. Flu, COVID, and even swine flu several years ago.
Unlike worm-brain, I understand vaccines.
**She witnessed various horrors in her childhood, so as a mom she made sure her kids got everything available.

Already had it. Yes, I had the flu shot, but according to reports it’s not as effective as usual owing to multiple variants which emerged after the vaccines were developed. That said, it only lasted for two really bad, horrible, no good days - but the next two weeks were a day after day after day full of blahs. Felt like a truck had run over me, but a small truck ;)
Now back to semi norbal, but I still tire easily. Been about 2 1/2 weeks. Two of Mrs.Goofy’s friends have had it (Tennessee is a hot spot, I got it at a funeral in a church, I believe) and they said it took about 3 weeks to fully recover.
