Listening to NPR this morning, I heard that many of the jobs created in the past few months were part time jobs, that getting a full time job was problematic. I dealt with this in the early 1980's. If you recall, that was a time of stagflation. I am hearing a rhyme here.
I had to take 3 jobs just to rent a room in a house, (admittedly Boston high COL area,) no health insurance, very little food, and was rescued by a friend's dad who bought my used car from me and rescued me from the 18% interest rate on the loan. Total treadmill just to keep my nose above water. The rest of my head was quite under.
