About 90% of the nursing homes in the US accept Medicare/Medicaid, and many are excellent. No the doubt the Ritz Carlton Collection nursing homes don't, but few can afford that anyway.
tripadvisor.com - ShowUserReviews The Ritz Carlton Sarasota Sarasota FloridaThe way it works is that, an excellent nursing home might have 100 beds, but only certify 20 for Medicare/Medicaid. There's a long waiting list for the Medicaid beds.
If you want to become a resident of the facility, they check your finances and see how many years of full charge private-pay you can afford. You might have to be good be several years and hundreds of thousands of dollars of private-pay care to get to the top of the waiting list for entry. But if you eventually run out of money, they don't kick you out.
So you don't need to be wealthy enough to pay for 20 years of Alzheimer's private pay care. You just need to wealthier than the other people on the waiting list.
