Obviously googl is not OT on this board.
Wouldn't this be a brilliant opportunity to disclose that googl was NOT a Buffett investment but rather an amazingly timed purchase by the team that represents brks future?
Brk is seeking a catalyst to increase demand for brk common, going forward, once Buffett it gone. Isn't this a comforting event IF Buffett was willing to disclose googl was not his idea?
With brkb trading 80 points higher than HE is willing to pay for it, doesn't the market need great news?
While we, patiently, wait for brk to initiate a 50 cent to 1$$ quarterly dividend, next year, why not share the great news, team brk made a terrific investment.
Sometimes too little disclosure is a bad thing!
Do the right Uncle give team brk the well-deserved credit. Call Becky to wish team cnbc a healthy holiday and mention how brilliant your hand-picked successors were with googl.
Thank you. hclasvegas,your favorite partner.

Are you asking why I think it's material to disclose WHO bought googl?

Last time I went to Las Vegas it was incredible how expensive it had all become. Back when I lived there in the early 90's we could get breakfast for 99 cents, basically drink all day for free (always tip your waitress), $1 hotdog for lunch, $1.99 steak and eggs for dinner. Last time I was there we had to pay to park!
It ain't cheap no more. Anyone living there and partying hard needs a steady stream of increasing income. Berkshire's stock price languishing at 1.57x book just don't do it.

Funny you bring that up. I have family and friends in town for the holidays. Eat where locals eat and don't pay super high prices plus free parking away from the strip, simple.
Thank you for your concern but it's the rent on my unfurnished double wide trailer that puts a cash strain on my monthly finances. Thanks for the laughs partner, and for generously sharing the brilliance of your thoughts!

Vegas died when they priced out the traditional traveler ( gamblers and people who enjoyed the shows)

I'll attempt to ignore your condescending tone. The post was clearly marked Off Topic. Just skip it or put me on ignore. I won't miss you.
Reasons why Google matters to this Board:
1) Berkshire just bought Google after many years of talking about it. The obvious question is why now?
2) Is it Greg directing or at least authorizing the buy? I find that very exciting for potential future returns and direction post Warren
3) The esteemed founder of this Board, called the undervaluation of Google in a post months ago. All one had to do was digest his logic
I own a ton of Google after following TPU deployment from my former leadership job supporting JP Morgan all the way back in 2016. Do the math.
You have no idea what I do but I can assure you I don't sit around constantly explaining or debating the issue of a Berkshire dividend like some on this Board. I also post on the Shrewd Google board.
You remind me of people that Aaron Rodgers was referring to in this vid:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nxUa8Uv1qO4I certainly don’t need your advice.
Perhaps you feel a sense of inadequacy with your personal Portfolio or frustration living in Cali with Newsom. I love visiting though! Laguna Beach & Dana Point are my personal favorites.

You must be new to the community. I spent YEARS, YEARS, pounding the table to authorize buybacks at material discounts to IV, YEARS, until Buffett finally did it!
I have patience, I was married once, brkb WILL authorize a quarterly div, watch.

Reports of our death are clearly premature bud. Betting apps on phones will destroy more lives than street drugs, porn, or marriage!
The apps will keep many degenerates broke and hurt brick and mortar casinos.
