I sorta stumbled on this classic movie. Apparently it has been restored, and is available for streaming. I watched it.

I can appreciate the newness of the concept. It was 1968. They called the undead "ghouls", but later we referred to them as "zombies" (in pretty much every movie that had zombies in it). But this got me to start over with Walking Dead. We watched first-run many years ago. Rewatching it now, it is so much better than the 1968 movie. Not even close, really. So, "respect" to the original. But Walking Dead elevated the genre to new heights, and dealt realistically (IMO) with the realities such a world would impose.

I had forgotten how good that show was.
