I've been out of REIT preferreds for several years, but back in the meltdown of 2008, they worked out very well. As rates were cut, more and more were called and cashed in, until recent years I have not seen much opportunity. A recent review shows the potential for relatively safe yield with an upside is back. Anyone buying?

I've been mostly out of REIT prfds too. Have small holdings of RPTPRD and PLYMPRA. I'm looking at buying PSA preferred 'H' yields 5.9% at yesterday's close of $23.68. Callable 3/24.

Zoo, I also bought the PSA-h. I envisioned holding it for the decent yield, but I just sold it, well over par. Not making a killing on these things but there does seem to be some steady low risk gains out there.

The ETFs PGX and PFFD are both yielding over 6% for those without time / interest for individual issues...PFFA doing even better but with 4x expense ratio...
