I am looking for ideas for fixed income.
Could be corporate bonds, preferred bonds, closed end funds?
I am considering taking 10 to 25% of my portfolio and moving it into fixed income.
I am familiar with the WFC & BAC preferred paying low 6% ish.
CD's pay about 4%. Hoping to safely beat that by at least 150 basis points.

"" I am looking for ideas for fixed income.

For what it's worth, I'm following the CEF space for many decades. I would NOT buy any bond type fund now after this huge rally, regardless of the discount to NAV. IF you are looking out 5 years or longer, stock based funds with generous payouts , especially in your IRA, are a much better investment. Will interest rates spike higher again in the next 5 years ? Sure seems likely to me, good luck.

"" Thanks for the feedback."" btw, the vanguard MMF, symbol, VMFXX, currently yields 5.43%, virtually risk free, not a bad place to park money while you consider your options. GL.
