LET'S HOPE....the next President of the United States doesn't lay off lots of people.

Or will the next President allow companies to use AI to replace humans?

Either way, Trump's layoffs are bad.

Let's hope the next President's layoffs aren't even worse.

If they are, those laid off need to find the neighboirhood,s investors, and engineers and tech professionals who created said AI mechanisms and.....have a chat with them. #AllJobsMatter....

I'm so impatient for this all to happen.

Anyways, let's hope the net President doesn't lay a bunch of people off, whole entry levels, etc. Whole industries even.

Consumer sentiment nears lowest level EVER as worries build over shutdown...

"Worries over the government shutdown surged in the early part of November, pushing consumer sentiment In to its lowest in more than three years and just off its worst level ever,
according to a University of Michigan survey released Friday."

Well, at least pedophile Ghislane Maxwell has been moved to a country club style facility complete with yoga classes!

On the contrary,

A lower level of economic activity, especially in the United States, and Western Europe, will help to save the planet from climate change.

Cut down on airplane flights, save the planet.

Cut down on excessive mindless consumption, this will also go along ways to saving the planet.

If people don't have enough money to have children, this will reduce the population--that will also save the planet.

If people don't have enough money to buy their own single family homes, they can bunk with their parents or extended family. This is a much more efficient use of the planet's precious resources. It takes a Village.

This will also greatly improve the GINI coefficient and tend to make the global economy more equal, hence, more fair.

These are all central core progressive values.

We consume far too much per capita in the USA and Western Europe. Less consumption = more fairness and more peace of mind for everyone.

From The Financial Times:
"Scraping for crumbs: Americans squeezed by affordability crisis." (Or as Fox News would say, "Prosperity!")

"An affordability crisis is sweeping the US, as higher prices of food, rents and healthcare force lower-income Americans to cut back on necessities just as the Trump administration curbs government supports."

"Resentment is building over the yawning wealth gap, as rising prices disproportionately hit lower-income Americans at a time when richer neighbors enjoy a housing and stock market boom."

"We see a lot of people who have been evicted because they couldn’t pay their rent, because they had a car accident and then couldn’t pay their medical bills.
I think that’s the sort of homelessness that we’ll start to see a lot more of."

"Many low-income Americans are under severe strain. There’s a bottom dropping out that I hadn’t, even as recently as last year."

"Food costs are another issue. Trump says he has driven down prices. But the data does not show this.
Nationally, grocery costs keep rising, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Beef alone is up 14 per cent compared to last year."

"The enactment of Trump’s sweeping spending bill means that, from next year, new work requirements will restrict the number of people eligible for Snap and Medicaid, healthcare for low-income Americans.
Healthcare costs have already surged — and are set to rise further for low-income Americans unless Republicans agree to extend tax credits provided by the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare.
They are due to expire at year-end."

Did I mention that tariffs are regressive taxes: they disproportionately punish lower-income Americans, raising the cost of living for those least able to absorb it.

"The Point is you can't be too greedy!" ~Donald Trump, from "The Art of the Deal"
