UN Security Council resolution endorses Biden's Immediate Cease Fire Plan.
Phase 1 - Israel pulls out entirely from Gaza, 600 aid trucks per day pour in. Some form of hostage-prisoner exchange takes place.
Phase 2 - after six weeks, the cease fire continues as long a negotiations with Hamas continue.
So all Hamas needs to do is extend to negotiations. Israel would be even bigger pariah if they unilaterally re-engage militarily. So for the next two or three years, Hamas rebuilds, refreshes, and reconstitutes, and rearms. They siphon off as much as possible of that guilt driven western aid that assuredly will pour in.
Basically Hamas continues to exist to conduct future attacks, and all it is giving up are the hostages. They will certain to make mass hostage taking part of every operation.
Then in two or three years, Hamas can conduct the next Oct 7. Hamas promised a thousand more Oct 7 if that is what it takes.

So what's the alternative? Netanyahu kills 300,000 more people, including 60,000 kids? Is that what you're advocating?
In other news:
NEW: A Pennsylvania court is allowing the Republican National Committee to defend a state law that rejects undated or wrongly dated mail-in ballots. The law is being challenged by pro-voting groups that allege it violates the state constitution.
And the Repubs are trying to eliminate mail in voting in Nevada. GOP policy is the GOP is better off with fewer people voting.

And even if Israel carpet bombed every square foot of Gaza and the West Bank to rubble, killing every single person there, would Hamas be defeated? I don't think so. Iran would still find a way to reconstitute it.

Yes, it might not be called Hamas, but the same thing.

Yup. A great deal for Hamas and the UNHRA (whatever it is) org that funnels them dollars to buy weapons and dig tunnels. For Israel, not so much.
The left’s antisemitic mask is all the way off.

That's the problem. You really can't destroy Hamas, any more than we could destroy the VC. Or the Taliban. We tried. They hid among civilians and/or dropped down into holes, and waited us out. Hamas is doing more or less the same thing.
I totally sympathize with wanting to "get them all". I still want to get all the Taliban. But I know it isn't possible, and never was. At some point you have to stop and go home.

Hamas won well before this.
As did Al Qaeda.
the Al Qaeda one - I'd prefer they'd lost.
Hamas? I dont like some of the tactics - but, I'm not passionately for nor against Hamas.
Hamas seems to have tons in common with many in the world, at various junctures of time in the world.
Why is that.

Yes, it might not be called Hamas, but the same thing.
From Wikipedia:
Hamas,[d] an acronym of its official name, Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya (Arabic: حركة المقاومة الإسلامية, romanized: Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah, lit. 'Islamic Resistance Movement')
So perhaps Hamas' new name might be the IRM.
