Andrew Bary from Barron's makes a good case in this article from a few weeks ago (paywall):

Summary: seems like it would be a great fit, Chubb has investment portfolio of $140 billion mostly in bonds, little overlap in insurance lines, valuation doesn't seem too demanding. Essentially Alleghany times 10.

Could possibly explain why Warren is increasing the cash pile...?
