On April 1, Abbott posted a clip from Mother Miriam’s “Mother Miriam Live” podcast, originally aired on March 6, where she made these remarks. Abbott’s post praised Mother Miriam for “sharing the truth,” a sentiment that has resonated with many of his followers, CatholicVote.org reported.

“Catholic Nun sharing the truth. Calls Biden inept and evil. Says it would be an act of God to elect Trump. Says voting should be limited to citizens,” Abbott posted.”

I don't have to listen to this sort of "appeal", so I don't.

But beyond just not listening, I think it is a BIG mistake to campaign as the party of God because it turns a lot of people off. These Red states passing really extreme anti abortion laws and providing credible talking points for the Dems is no help either.

If the Repubs want success in attracting new, younger voters to the party, they need to recognize that young people are just not as religious and church going as prior generations. The Repubs need adjust their messaging accordingly and tone down the religion. The Repubs are cruising to an easy win in Nov on crime and border security and the best way to lose is mixing in religion. So there!

I think the younger voters will just tune out the religious pitch if not interested,
they are interested in the economy and inflation and how to get ahead. They stand a better chance with Trump.
