The democrat coalition is cracking wide open. The President of the Teamsters union is out with this:

"Get to the table, negotiate a deal, do not put working people in the middle of a problem they should not be in. Think about the families who will be affected, put the politics aside, pass a clean CR right NOW"

Notice that he's standing right next to J.D. Vance when he's saying this.

The President of the Teamsters union is out with this:

Of course he would say this. Teamsters have health insurance through a variety of funds and employers, and prescription drug coverage in addition to dental, eye care, and other benefits.

The Democratic position is for all the others who do not. PS: Been a while since the Teamsters were a bedrock of the Democrats; in 2024 they did not endorse any candidate for President.

in 2024 they did not endorse any candidate for President.

My grandfather was a Teamster, so had Teamster material around the house. I remember seeing the Teamster magazine from 1972, when the union endorsed Nixon.

While the President of the UAW endorsed Harris, a lot of his rank and file was for Trump. Trump's protectionist and anti-immigrant policies resonate with the rank and file.

Of course. As I mentioned in another thread where a different union advocated for the Dems to unshut the government, the Schumer Shutdown was and is terrible as a political strategy. And obviously so.

Even AOC is trying to distance herself from it, claiming that Schumer's obvious political motivation of being fearful of AOC in a primary is simply a Republican delusion. She wants to be able to deny being any part of it, even if only in Schumer's or the Republican Party's imagination.

Multiple Dem leaders are on record as advocating the Schumer Shutdown as a form of political "leverage." Against whom? Against their own constituencies. Talk about shooting yourselves in both feet...
