The answer is right there in your link and even the pitiful New York Post makes it clear: The government also sought information on users who interacted with Trump leading up to the riot.

So crimes were committed by Trump, he was actually indicted on three counts of conspiracy over his efforts to stay in power after the 2020 election, and prosecutors wanted to learn who else participated in the conspiracy.

That ain't fascism, that's how you investigate a wide-ranging conspiracy.

Jeebus, the law and order party sure hates law and order when it involves Orange Jesus and his cult.
