Bu there is no public health emergency.

Much like you can indict a ham sandwich, you can create an emergency if the need arises.

Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it rejected any effort to reimplement the "Migrant Protection Protocols" policy known as "remain in Mexico" for asylum-seekers.

That's a negotiation with Mexico. A skilled negotiator could extract a deal. You people aren't skilled negotiators.

And as we've repeatedly discussed, Trump killed the bipartisan immigration bill in order to have the border as a campaign issue.

You seem to be under the impression that this bill was dissected here on this very board and found to be...wanting. That's a fancy way of saying, "it sucked".

Just because your side decided for once in the last 40 years you thought you'd move an inch on the subject doesn't make it some kind of "grand compromise".

Own it.

Own what? You people denied there was any problem at all for 3 years. Now that you're going to lose Congressional seats over this suddenly it's something to own.
