its sad to say that Forbes has done some of the better digging into this story. (full credit to the zac everson series)
suspected a hanley-axos connection, given the LA base.
would give equal odds regarding trump's own cash vs exploring whether he could funnel money from elsewhere for both bonds (and only because of the ~70% reduction for fraud appeal).

would really like to know if frontmen chubb and knight have been fully derisked, sitting on the gain amount already, and by whom.
(per my other post : hankey requires 30% return in his 'normal' business empire)

where are the some of the best financial journalists via FT, bloomberg, etc...?
