Can someone on the right please explain it...

There is no rational explanation. Well, for a subset of Trump supporters like the racists and uber rich oligarchs there is a kind of selfish interest.

But for most MAGAs you have to say it is a cult or very cult-adjacent. Nothing else can really explain it.
