Isn't the flawed interpretation of the 2nd amendment a wonderful thing?
The Supreme Court overturned a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, a semiautomatic weapon attachment, enacted after a mass shooting in Las Vegas.
The decision is a forceful rejection of one of the government’s few steps to address gun violence, particularly as legislative efforts have stalled in Congress. NYT
Can you guess what the vote was? Can you? It was 6 to 3. What an idiotic ideological Supreme Court we have now. And what a stupid decision. The assault weapons ban should never have been allowed to lapse.

It appears that, if you can get fissionable material, you could own a nuke, too. Why not? Preventing that would be "infringing" on your rights.
The argument against that would be the same as the arguments against automatic weapons, bump stocks, high-capacity magazines, etc. If those don't fly, then if you can manage it, you can have a nuke.

The story following -The Supreme Court overturned a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, is equally patriotic; -Majority US gun owners store weapons unsafely - report -
The volume of stolen machine guns will perfectly compliment the American experience with the blood of patriots from sea to shining sea.

I disagree with the whole idea that the general public should be allowed military grade weapons, or mimics. If the prefatory clause regarding militias doesn't modify the operative clause, then the individual rights to keep and carry are not brought about by the need for an armed militia, and are separate. The individual rights are mostly for self defense and if you have a hundred or so each of rifles, pistols, and shotguns available, the need for self defense is fulfilled. No need for automatics or a mimic as that's good in warfare, but no defense of the home or hearth. No need for super large clips, 6 to 10 in a clip is enough.
Wanna play war - fine, we'll make a place where you your buds can go fire these weapons, but you don't get to take them home. Wanna own a machine gun, fine, the tax on that will be $10,000. And you have to have a metal encase concrete safe built into your basement.
