The man will literally repost texts he receives from heads of state. He's shown absolutely zero restraint in spraying the wall with every possible excuse why Greenland should be given to the U.S., from Chinese warships to the Golden Dome to resentment over the Peace Prize to the absence of any documentary evidence for Denmark's ownership to....well, to everything.
If Trump had gone to Denmark with a reasonable request, like having a few more military installations to install the Golden Dome, and they had said "no" there is no effing way he wouldn't have screamed that to the rooftops! He would have had every member of his national security team, from Rubio on down, hitting the news circuit to decry Danish stubbornness.
This isn't about us being in the room - it's about having even the slightest awareness of how Trump conducts these types of efforts. There is zero chance that if the Danes had balked him this way, he would have kept mum about it and never brought it up. Since he didn't say that, we know to a near-certainty that they did not.
