The UK master franchisee / area owner listing is trading at much lower multiples than the US, how come?

Single territory?
Costs and growth under pressure currently, must be the same for the US?

Reading up on franchising it's much better to be the master than servant (local franchisee) given the amount you have to invest, thin margins and lack of say so,it's quite risky for the small business owner IMO.
