Hegseth violated article 134 of the UCMJ when he committed adultery, while a commissioned officer. This isn't one of the petty matters I occasionally admonished troops for, once upon, when I was in command (I commanded twice, him zero times, but he's qualified for SECDEF somehow). Petty matters were administrative in consequence, handled under Article 15. I did dozens of those. Fighting in formation, cursing out the First Sergeant, etc.

He unambiguously broke a law that is punishable in trial by courts martial. Extramarital sexual contact. Look it up. I only sent one troop to the brig, after proffering a courts martial against him. One. In over four years of command.

But all good 'cause Pete's a good xtian and is a friend of the King.
