I'm guessing Buffett sold 30 million shares of apple in the quarter hence reducing that concentration issue. I guessed he sold 20 million shs last quarter that was very lucky.
" Summary
Berkshire Hathaway is a remarkable company, but current conditions do not present a compelling entry point for new investors.
BRK.B's excessive cash position limits its ability to capitalize on smaller opportunities and creates structural challenges in a market with high valuations.
Concerns about portfolio concentration in stocks like Apple (AAPL) and Coca-Cola (KO), combined with a lack of a conglomerate discount, make the valuation unappealing.
Given these factors, BRK.B is rated a hold, with solid underlying businesses but no clear catalyst for outperformance at current prices."

BRK.B's excessive cash position limits its ability to capitalize on smaller opportunitiesOdd comment. Berkshire's size means smaller opportunities don't move the needle. Not anything to do with how much cash they have. And anyway, as Jim points out, the cash should be thought of as part of the fixed income allocation. A very substantial part of it will never be used to buy equities or businesses.
Agree with this:
BRK.B is rated a hold, with solid underlying businesses but no clear catalyst for outperformance at current prices.I'd rather be in Berkshire than S&P500, but I've been telling myself that for a long time.

Good morning, brk needs 200-250 plus billion plus cash?
That chart convinced you that you would rather be in brk than spy the past 15 years? Keep in mind spy is more liquid and the options are much more liquid as well. IF, I had known Buffett would be so late at authorizing a serious buyback I would have invested substantially more in spy over brk. WHO KNEW that with Buffett and Munger working FREE, that brkb wouldn't crush all other investing options over 30 years? It was VERY lucky that in the kids 401K and 529s picking a stock like brk wasn't an option so, all in, spy with an 18-40 year time horizon worked out great.

That chart convinced you that you would rather be in brk than spy the past 15 years? No. I was too subtle, I find.
I have been in BRK the past 15 years.
15 years ago (and 25, 20, 10 and 5 years ago) I thought BRK would be better than SPY.
It has NOT been better the last 15 years, though look at the chart...check out that endpoint.
Yet I still cling to the belief that BRK will be better, for me, going forward.
No help for me, I guess.
Keep in mind spy is more liquid and the options are much more liquid as well. IF, I had known Buffett would be so late at authorizing a serious buyback I would have invested substantially more in spy over brk.Buybacks are OK. I'd rather they buy other good businesses. I expect Greg will do large buybacks when it's cheap. Soon, probably.

The chart tool I use only goes back 26.7 years:

No help for me, I guess.” With all due respect, you figure brkb to do better with munger and Buffett gone? Are they being replaced by cheaper labor lol? This is poorly reasoned imo. If trump put in a 10 percent flat tax on all capital gains for one year and Newsom did the same say 3-4 percent, I’d be gone bud. Good luck bud.

My oldest kid is 45 so 401ks and 529s aren’t that old for me. I do know that when I retired in 1992, if I went all in spy or brk, and put a parental block on all financial channels and all financial publications like the wall st j, Barron’s, etc, and never made one trade, I’d be substantially richer today lol. Off to the park, have a grand day.

And would you put all your Berkshire money into the S&P500 right now? That's bold.

“ And would you put all your Berkshire money into the S&P500 right now? That's bold.“ No, definitely not spy at this level. A high quality high dividend etf tho I have no doubt the crypto gang will make tens of billions the next three years.

Jefferies downgraded Apple (AAPL) to Underperform from Hold with a price target of $205.16, down from $205.82.
Really? Talk about precision! ;-)

Be interested to know which high quality high dividend etf you have in mind.
SCHD is quite popular. Not done well, though.

Yep, obviously any fund that doesn't own the MAG 7 hasn't done great the past five years. Is that chart divs reinvested? I also own CET, ADX, and PEO, mostly in IRAs, and EPD in taxable accounts. However, some is ten years old, different metrics now.
Thanks, bud.
