There is some BS manipulation of ticket sales going on with this movie. I looked at the ticket availability for the shows in our local theater this week and all of the 9:40pm showings were sold out for the week. When I checked tonight I saw that all the tickets were suddenly available. One ticket was sold. One.

Do why was the theater sold out yesterday and empty today? Did Jeff buy it out?

Easy. The RNC/Bezos withdrew all the comps they were passing out because they’ve already gotten their headline “Melania’s Movie a Hit!” And there’s nothing more to be gained.

The real “tell” will be how it performs in Week 2, when the comps are gone and the theater owners have to decide whether to keep a screen available for nobody who wants to pay to see it.
