Look, Donald Trump was absolutely clear on the campaign trail that he doesn’t know anything about Project 2025. He’s barely heard of Project 2025. He absolutely does not approve of Project 2025. The fact that, per ABC News, Project 2025’s top minds are flocking into the new Trump administration is just one of those interesting coincidences

Certainly sucks.

But Kristol the Israel Mules's war dreams have done more damage than Pro2025. I know a Bush=Cheney guy like yourself won't agree and I respect that.

BUT as a non sheeple I can say - if they do goofy stuff, they'll lose Congress and JD Vance will kiss his ass goodbye in politics.

And it would be deserved.

Either way : Punishment.

Yep. Still not any evidence that Trump cares a flying fig about what Project 2025 says or wanted to do.

Heritage asked a bunch of former Trump folks to contribute to their project, and included in their book a ton of stuff that Trump supported in his first term. They also used the project to promote the policies they wanted, even if Trump didn't (free trade! federal abortion bans!).

So yeah - Trump is doing the stuff he wants to do, irrespective of whether Heritage wrote down the stuff he wants to do in Project 2025. He's not going to do any of the stuff he doesn't want to do - even if Heritage wrote that stuff down in Project 2025. And he's going to hire the people he wants, even if (and regardless of whether) they contributed to Project 2025.

That's always the case with him.

I would guess, though, that there might be significant overlap between what he wants and the substance of P25. Also, since he is um...a bit suggestable to outside influences (i.e. the last person he talks to before he takes action) there is ample opportunity for P25 implementation. A lot of folks in his prospective administration could suggest things at the right time and make it seem like Trump's idea all along.

so we are back where we always have been with trump :
- what does he WANT to do?
- what will he actually do?
- is this anyhow predictable, especially with regards to timing?

what little foundation we have is also back to the same :
- trump will prioritize items of personal benefit to him, family, and cronies (in that order). some unpredictable emotional moment will trigger actual action.
- in the rare instance that trump feels he really has to follow through on a promise, or favor, or ingratiation, it will unfold with someone else doing most of the work\responsibility. he used to consider personal risk, but this has become ephemeral.

for both scenarios, 'what have you done for me lately' will be a dominant factor. so jan6'ers need to produce.

in the complete 'no risk' category, i see a lot of medals being awarded to hypocritical cowards (ala rush limbaugh...probably alex jones this time), and more rightwing cause celebre criminals being pardoned.

****

I hope so.

Unlike Dubya - the NeoCon vultures got him into their pre hatched war plan successfully.
