Not cool:
https://www.foxnews.com/world/china-sharpens-confr...Beijing escalated its war of words with Tokyo after Japan said Chinese fighter jets aimed a fire-control radar at Japanese F-15s flying near Okinawa, an action Tokyo called "dangerous" and "extremely regrettable."
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his German counterpart Johann Wadephul in Beijing that "Japan is threatening China militarily," a stance he called "completely unacceptable," after the radar incident, Reuters reported.
Wang accused Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of "trying to exploit the Taiwan question — the very territory Japan colonized for half a century, committing countless crimes against the Chinese people — to provoke trouble and threaten China militarily. This is completely unacceptable," Wang said, according to China’s official Xinhua News Agency. He added that Japan, as a World War II "defeated nation," should act with greater caution. The jets were near Okinawa, which is...Japanese territory:
Japanese officials say the confrontation unfolded Dec. 6, when Chinese J-15 fighter jets operating from the aircraft carrier Liaoning twice aimed radar at Japanese F-15s over international waters near Japan’s Okinawa islands.Gettin' sporty in the Pacific.

Meanwhile Trump makes nice with our enemies and ruins relations with our traditional allies.
He is not making the world a safer place.

Yep. It is.
I stand by my prediction of a shooting war before this is over. At this rate, before the decade is out.
They've already scenario-ed this out. Read about it a few weeks ago. We'll lose two carriers, and China will lose pretty much their entire navy (and the war).
It's so unnecessary and stupid, but that's the path Xi is on.

Oh just STOP please with the dooming.
Yes it's concerning, and yes we have to stay on our toes.
But military forces of adversarial nations are constantly poking and prodding and probing and testing capabilities of their own forces and their adversaries' forces.
How far can they push it? What response will they get?
No response at all means we're asleep at the switch. Good for them, bad for us.
That's how you get an invasion of Crimea under Obamarama and of Donbass and perhaps all of Ukraine under Senile Joe Biden.
Obama signaled Russia could invade when during the debate with Romney he mocked Romney for citing Russia as our biggest geopolitical threat (this was in 2012). Then in 2014 Obama signaled not giving a shit about Russia invading Ukraine again and so Russia invaded Ukraine. (Obama doubled down on his gracious invitation to Russia.)
Biden, same in 2021 with the senile incompetent manner he withdrew from the Banana Stand, then again when he gave a speech flat out saying that NATO wasn't in united in how or if it would respond to Russian "minor incursions" into Ukraine. Russia again accepted a feeble Demos' gracious invitation into Ukraine. In fact, they like their open house tour so much that they decided to take the whole thing off our hands!
Thank you Commie Obama! Thank you Senile Joe!
In contrast, Trump is showing the world that he is not AFRAID to use our military forces, if, as, and when WE DECIDE.

So the prediction is Taiwan remains relatively free? Can you link to that? :)

Been traveling. I'll post it if I can find it again. I assumed by "China will lose", that meant Taiwan continued to exist independently.

Ya, I found a short 1.5 minute video that said CSIS predicted we'd lose 2 carriers, China doesn't get Taiwan, Taiwan's economy is crippled, and we lose quite a bit. Thanks. Hope your travels were good. Have to get my wife into traveling and cruising again, she's a pickle ball addict now. :) I'm trying to get my knee to heal so I can go back to walking and get the trike working.

Yes, it was CSIS. I found an article about it, but you apparently already did, too.
Yes, the travels were good. Though, next time, we'll bring snorkel stuff. We may do this exact itinerary again, and about a month later (when the blue whales are in the Sea of Cortez: Jan-Mar). That would be awesome.
Hope the healing is going well. Your wife would have liked this trip as they had pickleball classes, and "pick-up games". We did Tai Chi. Every day. The instructor completed the "24" version, and gave us resources to continue on our own when we get home. We're going to try to continue it.
