I have been fortunate enough to have used information gleaned from METAR and other selected boards to make a significant amount of money over the years.

There are a number of new members to the board who are filling it with political rhetoric. While it might have been tolerated on TMF, this board has been relatively "clean" until the past few weeks. Yes, it is appropriate to post about political activity which upsets you - but on the Political Asylum or US Policy boards. While it is true that many government policies have macroeconomic implications, if you look at the recent posts, many add little to our ability to use the information to make money.

Jeff

Which thread Subjects do you think would be better posted on either the US Policy board or the Political Asylum board?

In my mind the "ICE Keeping us Safe from MS13" is probably better addressed elsewhere. If it was about how ICE raids and the National Guard in DC are killing restaurant and tourist business that would probably fit here.

I think the "Deportation as a revenue generator" thread could go either way.

Unlike Intel, US Steel, and Nvidia, I have not seen any government involvement in the Cracker Barrel story. It, like Target's bad earnings, is a macroeconomic story with political overtones. That is the world we live in. But it is still largely economic.

I prefer people to call out their objections specifically rather than generally. So the ones I mentioned are how I see things. YMMV

Agreed, the poli should go elsewhere.

The only difference is in the Lisa Cook matter at the FED.

Unfortunately, that is a major discussion on losing money.

Moreover, the discussion on the FED is a macroeconomic discussion beyond investments and belongs here more than individual stock picking.

It would be better if there was a bit more granularity in the OP statement.

It, like Target's bad earnings, is a macroeconomic story with political overtones.

What does not have political overtones these days? There is supposed to be a decree coming next month about childhood vaccinations. Would a return to rampant childhood cases of measles, chicken pox, and mumps impose a cost on the economy, or is it political, therefore verboten?

What is really confusing is seems that some people, here, are flamed for politics, and others are not.

I'll see myself out.
