"Onward Christian soldier, marching as to war"
Most of those 50k have been there, at various US bases, for a long time. It's the new arrivals, Marines and 82nd Airborne, that are the escalation.
And next weekend is a big Christian holiday.

And next weekend is a big Christian holiday.
Perfect Triumphalist holiday for a twisted nationalist who claims to be Christian…. to launch a ground crusade aimed at the heart of Shia Islam.
The last series of “Christian” crusades did not go well at all for the empire builders of medieval Europe. But at least it introduced a note of humility that gradually wore off over the next centuries.
Looks like we’re going for a reprise of that disaster.
Human foolishness knows no bounds.
However, China and Russia are enjoying the moment.

SNIP
While Generation X (born 1965–1980) has traditionally maintained steady levels of faith, recent data and cultural shifts highlight a more dramatic "return to God" among Generation Z (born 1997–2012). This younger generation is increasingly seeking stability, community, and ancient traditions in response to modern "moral chaos" and digital isolation.
Key Drivers of the Spiritual Resurgence
Search for Stability: In a world characterized by economic instability, political polarization, and high rates of anxiety, Gen Z is turning to faith for a "solid foundation" of truth and morality.”
Gen Z wants Peace and Stability. They support President Trump to rid the world of the Iranian Regime.

True, which is why your follow on statement is completely false:
They support President Trump to rid the world of the Iranian Regime.
Trump’s net approval rating with these voters was minus 7 at the midpoint of 2025. Yet by February 1 of this year, it was an astonishing minus 31.8. Now young people are abandoning Trump faster than any other voting bloc.
Promises made- and abandoned by Donald J. Trump. He promised to stay out of wars, especially in the middle east. Now he’s launched the mother of all recent military disasters in the middle east.
Iran will put the final nail in the coffin of MAGA’s idiocy.
Unfortunately, it probably spells the end of American prosperity as well.
And you still have no clue.

It's amazing how much of a failure education is in this country. The Crusades are Exhibit A.

Perfect !!
They shall be the occupation force. Let's see how many change their mind when it is time for them to be sent to Iran.

Tell me about a successful Crusade that didn’t end in disaster.
You’re in my bailiwick, now, Dope, so don’t expect to get away with horseshit or right wing fantasies of “Tales from the Crusades”.

1. History is what history is. The largest failure of liberals on this board is failing to comprehend that Facts are Facts regardless of where they come from.
2. The First Crusade - in reaction to Islamic conquest of the Holy Lands and the plea for help from the Byzantines (the Eastern part of the Roman Empire) - resulted in the recapture of Jerusalem.
One can debate the word "successful", but the First Crusade's stated goal was to recapture Jerusalem, and it did, holding on to it for ~90 years.

Salladin recaptured and we’re still dealing with the blowback.

BTW- During the 4th Crusade, the armies of Western Christendom sacked the city of Constantinople, weakening it to the point that it never really recovered.
In the ill fated Children’s Crusade, an army of children was led to its death.
All of the Crusades were financed by western (particularly Venetian) business interests seeking monopolies on trade routes and the weakening of commercial fleets from the Levant.
Some things never change- just the cast of characters.
