Mentioned here with some frequency, how's this for an example of cognitive impairment from just last week in Iowa:

"When I came here, everybody thought Bush was gonna' win. Then they took a poll and they found out Trump was up by about 50 points and everybody said, 'What's goin' on right here?' They thought that Bush, 'cause Bush was supposedly a military person. Great. You know what he was a military, he got us into the, ahh, he got us into the Middle East. How did that work out? Right? But they all thought that Bush might win. Jeb. You remember Jeb?"

Trump confusing Jeb with George W. comes on the heels of Trump claiming he defeated Barack Obama in 2016 and predicting that president Biden would get us into WWII.

But, sure, it's Biden who's the fuzzy thinker.

Lately, left-leaning influencers on social media have been trying to mitigate the impact of Biden's age by pretending that former President Donald Trump, who has the best chance of securing the GOP nomination so far, has the same issues.

Run with it, libruls!

But, it is fair to ask: What other strategy could those on the left employ to assuage worries about Biden's age? There is only so much they can do, after all. Biden is not going to stop showing his cognitive decline, and Democrats won't be able to get away with hiding him in a basement as they did during the 2020 race. The best they can do is try to gaslight the nation into believing that Trump and Biden are in the same boat. Unfortunately for them, this plan will be about as effective as trying to breathe underwater.
