Putin interview with Tucker Carlson shows Kremlin outreach to Trump’s GOPMOSCOW — As Russian state television propagandists salivated over Tucker Carlson’s interview with President Vladimir Putin, the first of Carlson’s falsehoods about his visit to Moscow was punctured, fittingly enough, by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who presumably helped arrange the whole strange venture.
Carlson, the conservative former Fox News host with a history of airing bogus “news,” claimed — falsely — that prominent U.S. newspapers and television outlets had refused to interview Putin since his invasion of Ukraine and were ignoring Russia’s perspective. Carlson labeled Western media as “corrupt” and accused them of lies on Tuesday in a video confirming that he was in Moscow for a Q&A with the president.Wow, Cucker...what a douche, anti-democratic, enemy coddling POS.

The Kremlin’s decision to allow the interview demonstrated Putin’s interest in building bridges to the disruptive MAGA element of the Republican Party, and it seemed to reflect the Kremlin’s hope that Donald Trump would return to the presidency and that Republicans would continue to block U.S. military aid to Ukraine.

Did Putin actually answer a question? Not that Tuckums was able to ask many since Putin would not allow him to speak. After about 50 minutes or so, Tuckums was trying desperately to get Putin to talk about a peaceful resolution in Ukraine and Putin was having none of it, saying 'nyet,' not until the US cuts off aid to Ukraine forcing them to surrender.
Coincidentally, that's exactly what Trump implied he would do.
This is such a flustercluck, I would expect even republicans here to condemn this interview.
But I'm not holding my breath.

some hilarious followup for tucker 'not a journalist on liability issues' carlson.
putin threw him under the bus on :
- a psychotically-delivered remark regarding tucker's rejection from the CIA (thus depriving all of the most hilarious double-agent in history)
- on tucker's meekness per the softballs question served
carlson smiled and took it, because ya know with putin, the real bus is idling near by.
ok, i get that MAGA likes to believe they have 'smart' people too. but the buckley era is long over. if not famous, isnt tucker exactly the kind of overprivileged elitist fratboy type they bash at a rally? kinda like a billionaire grifter that claims to be for the common people?
