but clearly Trump has demonstrated broad appeal and has broadened the base of the Republican party.

A truly frightening and disgusting thing to contemplate.

But consider how Hitler and Mussolini 'broadened' their base. Does not mean the BASE was right. And they are wrong as hell now in this country.

If we still have anything like factual history in the future, this will NOT be seen as a time of glory for the US. It will only be seen as a time of shame and degradation.
