" Obviously, unlawful immigrants are not the same as squatters. Some of these migrants have legitimate asylum and other claims. We have to separate those meritorious cases from the vast majority with no cognizable claims. Yet, our legal system is failing the public by allowing unlawful immigrants with no meritorious claims to game the system for years and then simply vanish into the nation.

In courtrooms across the country, the nation seems trapped in a type of Squatter Syndrome, a macro version of the housing cases. The slowness of the removal process is being used to keep millions in the country indefinitely. It may prove to be President Joe Biden’s most lasting legacy, a de facto residency by simply overwhelming the system by the sheer number of unlawful entries."

Yeah, except almost all the entries were lawful. It was congress that failed to allocate adequate resources to process them all.

Yeah, except almost all the entries were lawful.

No. Entries at US Port of Entries are lawful. Crossing the border anyplace other than that is unlawful.

However, the veneer of 'lawful' is applied when an illegal has been instructed to request 'amnesty'. Under the previous administration these claims for "amnesty" were effectively adjudicated on the stop with the illegal released into the country.

In other words Biden was apply Cloward-Piven to a T. The democrats will do anything to fluff up their Electoral College numbers even if it means putting entire communities at risk, causing fiscal strain at the local and state levels and incentivizing human misery via trafficking and sexual slavery.

Behold the new buzzwords to distract from Trump's failures - part of subversive propaganda techniques that will justify the tax cut for the rich.

I think it was Glenn Beck who popularized the term during the early years of the Obama administration. I remember his convoluted his convoluted blackboard drills, with that term circled and crazy arrows pointed every whichway to “proove” that the Cloward-Piven idea was a motivating thing among Democrats. I’d never heard of it. Nobody I knew had heard of it, but apparently, this is what we were all doing, according to the right: we were all following the “Cloward Piven strategy”. Before that, we were all supposed to be slaves to Saul Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals” which I HAD heard of , but except for a few hard left groups, I never saw much of Alinsky’s “rules” being followed…. At least until right wing groups began holding workshops on Alinsky’s “Rules” and then putting his teachings into practice ON THE RIGHT.

And of course, after the right wing bugaboos of Alinsky and Cloward-Piven came “Critical Race Theory”- another theoretical model generated among academics that described the pervasive nature of white privilege and institutional racism. Suddenly, the right wing claimed that “CRT was indoctrinating our children in public schools!” “They’re trying to make our children feel guilty for being white!”

Horseshit.

But they fall for these cockamamie stories every time.

And Dope still drags them out of the closet in order to tell us what we are slavishly following, but actually are not.

The right wing echosphere has stumbled onto a very successful strategy to sway the uninformed and it is this:

Comb through academia and its theories over the last hundred years. It doesn’t matter how obscure the theory. Then- demonize it. And then- tell their base that this is what the left is uniformly doing.

Alinsky
Cloward-Piven
CRT

Those three rallying cries have defined the last 15 years of Republican propaganda.

Somewhere on the extreme left fringe, those rallying cries find an appropriate target.

But the success of Republican propaganda lies in convincing their base that this is what defines the Democratic mainstream.

As I said, this is horseshit.

Meanwhile, we have a convicted felon as president, assisted by a Republican Congress that enables his continuing crimes.

But that’s all ok….. because……… Cloward-Piven!

Not my fault you don’t know what that means.

Thanks for this. Now I know one of the sources for that. And yes, I had heard of Alinsky, just like you, and it wasn't being practiced from what I could tell. And CRT? Never heard of it till the blacks espousing it were kicked out of the Southern Baptists, but I couldn't find anything on it, it was so obscure. I figured it might be some of the social critiques I'd read over the years. For instance articles showing it was true that white boys with the same background and records got much better treatment in the legal system and the differences between judges on blacks and whites. How you would fix that puzzles me. Set standards and have independent reviews?

Whatever Dope comes up with, we'll hear it for a while. And yes they do convince the base that's what we're doing and no response we make pierces that illusion.

Since the GOP wants to return to the '50's, I suppose the dems could lead by bringing out those old strategies from the "60's. LOL...
What year are we in again?
