Due process is SO unfair!

“I’m doing what I was elected to do, remove criminals from our Country, but the Courts don’t seem to want me to do that. My team is fantastic, doing an incredible job, however, they are being stymied at every turn by even the U.S. Supreme Court, which I have such great respect for, but which seemingly doesn’t want me to send violent criminals and terrorists back to Venezuela, or any other Country, for that matter — People that came here illegally! The Courts are intimidated by the Radical Left who are, ‘playing the Ref.’ Great Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito correctly wants to dissolve the pause on deportations. He is right on this! If we don’t get these criminals out of our Country, we are not going to have a Country any longer. We cannot give everyone a trial, because to do so would take, without exaggeration, 200 years. We would need hundreds of thousands of trials for the hundreds of thousands of Illegals we are sending out of the Country. Such a thing is not possible to do. What a ridiculous situation we are in. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

What he really needs/wants to do is get rid of the Constitution.

Ah, but there's the rub. How do you know that they are illegal and subject to deportation unless you have a process for determining that they're illegal and subject to deportation?

No one's stopping the Administration from "remov[ing] criminals from our Country." They're just going to make the government prove that the people they seek to remove are, in fact, criminals. As has always been the case.

Now, he is correct that he can't possibly deport as many people as he wants without giving everyone the hearing they're entitled to. The system doesn't have the capacity to move a million people through the pipeline in a year. They don't have the judges or lawyers to do it. That's why they're looking for a workaround - any workaround - that can get that throughput up.

Of course, it's not like John Thune didn't warn them about this. The reason he was advocating a second reconciliation package on energy and border security was to address exactly this issue. The Administration needs many tens of billions of extra spending to ramp up the immigration courts and lawyers (and evidence-gathering folks) to move that many people through the system that quickly, and they just don't have it. If they had taken up that smaller package at the beginning of Congress, they certainly could have had it passed by now. The Democrats got their first reconciliation package (the American Rescue Plan) to Biden's desk in early March of 2021. By pursuing the One Big Beautiful Bill strategy, though, the Administration isn't going to get that funding until some time in the summer, so they won't be able to even start the ramp of resources until then.

That oath he took twice to uphold the Constitution was like a verbal contract.

A verbal contract isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. - Attributed to Samuel Goldwyn

Any contract isn't worth anything. - Believed by Donald Trump

If only Republicans had taken up the immigration bill that Trump had them turn down for political purposes, the throughput could be doubled. As it is, Trump will have a hard time beating Obama's deportation stats. But the plundering is still good and the pace is brisk. Pay Trump off with digital asset purchases - why it's as if Trump's a criminal. Power and money...

Yep. And then there's this:

https://www.npr.org/2025/04/22/nx-s1-5372681/trump...

It's like he's determined not to hold trials, instead of ramping up the system to accommodate the increased volume. He seems to want to pick whomever he doesn't like, and that's his form of "due process".

And from further in the article:

"This is pure hypocrisy. We shouldn't be firing judges, we should be hiring them," he said.
/snip
"These immigration judges were appointed to serve the American people and uphold the rule of law—and they were fired by President Trump in violation of long-standing civil service protections," Skye Perryman, president and CEO of Democracy Forward, said in a statement at the time of the filing.
