Whether it’s MAGA broadcaster Brian Kilmeade advocating for the murdering of homeless people by “involuntary lethal injection”
or Liberal ex-broadcaster Matthew Dowd mentioning things that Charlie Kirk actually said,
both sides have gone well past the point of decency.

I don't see these as equivalent acts. Do you really see them that way, or was it a joke that was to subtle for me to appreciate?

Joke...in no way equivalent.

I hoped so, but in these times ....
I've seen stories from The Onion that had me thinking they were real until I noticed the source.
Maybe we need to adopt a sarcasm or irony tag. In honor of The Onion we could use a pair of empty parentheses (()). They sort of look like layers of an onion. There have been many proposed.

Not meant to be at all -- the point I saw was one of false equivalency we see so much on the right.

Time for a second cup of coffee, I see.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irony_punctuationYes, alternative punctuation is cool! I'm reminded of the way a surprising, questionable move is denoted in chess: ?! or !?, or even ??! or !!?, depending on the degree of surprisingness/questionableness.

Just some of my personal "US Policy":
Murder (unlawful killing) is always wrong. Lawful killing (war, police) is sometimes wrong and sometimes needed. Kilmeade's statement advocating killing is abhorrent, and Kilmeade subsequently apologized for his "extremely callous remark".
I also disagree with Dowd's statement. People have self-control and can break the links between thoughts, words, and actions. But self-control is a limited resource that can be depleted. Some pray "lead us not into temptation". The politicians who are assigning blame to millions of people, and suggesting violence, are leading some into temptation.
Social media and the 24 hour news cycle are not helping. There are good nutrition habits, and also good information habits. Watch what you eat. Watch what you watch. Pay attention to signs of poor nutrition (over-weight, blood pressure) or poor information intake (anger, fear, hate towards people you rarely see in person or don't know in depth).

Whether it's Mormon MAGA Tyler Robinson killing Charlie Kirk or Atheist Liberals gently placing flyers on Teslas, both sides actions are raising eyebrows...

Par for the course, for that faction. Right in there will SecEd Bill Bennett's solution to crime, "abort all black babies", and Trump's "these people are born to be criminals".

lizgdal: ...Kilmeade subsequently apologized for his "extremely callous remark".
Well, umm, that was one half-assed apology.
Kilmeade said: “I wrongly said they should get lethal injection. I apologize for that extremely callous remark. I am obviously aware that not all mentally ill, homeless people act as the perpetrator did in North Carolina and that so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion.”
So what he seems to be saying is that some but not all homeless individuals deserve our empathy and compassion but the homeless who act like the perpetrator in North Carolina still deserve to be killed.
BTW, about 20% of homeless men are vets.
