As surely many of you too I just received an email about IBKR´s updated "Client Assets Key Information Document (CAKID)", saying
The key changes relate to the arrangements IBIE has in place to protect Client Assets, where IBIE deposits client assets with a third party located in a jurisdiction whose laws prevent IBIE from complying with certain Client Asset Requirements, including the safeguards IBIE applies in such circumstances.
together with a link to that document.
Can somebody who understands the legal implications "translate" the content of that doc into plain English? Sum up the risks involved with an IBKR account holding cash/securities for a simple mind (me)?
Thanks in advance.
