Seattle agrees to pay BLM protesters $10 million in lawsuit stemming from 2020 riotsThe article says the award will be split between 50 protesters who claim the police hurt their feelings while trying to quell the mostly peaceful 150 night street fair. Nothing in the article said anything about business owners receiving any sort of compensation for their destroyed and looted businesses.

Yep. Seattle is incentivizing rioting.
All those clowns threw things at cops and destroyed property...and now they're getting paid.

Hopefully this hurts the city in some way shape or form.

The judgement is against the City of Seattle so it is the local taxpayers who get to foot the bill.

Reading is hard.
From your linked article:
...one of the protesters suffered a heart attack after she was hit by a blast ball fired by the Seattle Police Department, while another plaintiff, a veteran who uses a cane, was allegedly 'gassed and tackled because he didn’t retreat fast enough.'" ... "dozens of others suffered permanent hearing loss, broken bones, concussion, wounds..."
Oh, and this:
In February, the city of Seattle agreed to pay $3.6 million to settle a lawsuit filed by more than a dozen business owners and residents whose properties faced significant damages at the hands of protesters.

Real life is hard.
Hopefully that money comes from public services, public pensions, cops, anti climate change efforts and anything else that will lead to unpleasantries for the city and its citizens.

Thanks CO, I missed that and am glad to know at least few business owners got something although it doesn't seem like enough. And I hope there are other lawsuits going on because certainly there were more than 12 businesses that were disrupted, looted, burned, or destroyed. There were way more than 12 businesses just inside that ridiculous six block autonomous zone that, even if not looted, were denied access to their customers for a month or more.

Wait, I get it.... it's the conservative sense of humor.
