Sorry for posting here but Jim
Do you have a favorite lunch spot with a view in Monaco? We are heading there now😀

I’m responding to this question on the Berkshire board..

Maybe posts can be placed here when directed also to those abroad, just wanting to ask anyone for local insights whilst you are visiting.

Specially for restaurants *with good views* in Monaco.

For good prices whilst sitting beside the shore (tables right next to the sand) you can visit Larvotto region and go downstairs to the sea with many restaurants (all nearly the same). Normal prices, you can either dress well or relaxed. Serving all day so more suitable between meals when less busy. I don’t go that often as too bright and I love having my laptop with me all the time, even when composing.

Le Grill is an extra high quality restaurant, opposite cafe de Paris, also with a good ocean view
- but rather expensive even with such extra skill with cuisine.

For a good expansive view of boats from well above, and particularly pleasant atmosphere, there is La Môme Monte-Carlo but even more overpriced. You did ask for places with views, so I just describe a range for completeness or if you don’t care about the price.

For extremely good view of all the whole of Monaco together, far more normal price but need the take taxi out of Monaco, there is La Piscine Restaurant.

You can similarly - if prepared to climb higher in a taxi - go to the group of restaurants near the castle at Roquebrune (one is called Casarella but the others near it have better views). Relatively low prices and you will only see locals, and the staff friendly. I often go.

For very beautiful views of the rock cliffs and yachts below the castle, and mountains to your left, and where only locals go, there is Tre scalini (Fontville area) and all the nearby restaurants. I often go there. It isn’t a bird’s eye view of anything but rather allows you to look up at Monaco from near the water, plus light over the cliffs, and a more quiet atmosphere where there are no tourists. The food is not special whatsoever, but prices also normal.
