Some people can somehow maintain a positive view of Trump.
A quarter of Americans believe the FBI actually organized and encouraged the riot. That is a remarkably high percentage of people to believe something so far-fetched. The FBI director has called this “ludicrous.” And there is no evidence of this, my Post colleagues point out. We’ve had an exhausting congressional investigation into the attack, and hundreds of court cases that dug into the motivations of those arrested for being at the Capitol that day. The accusation that a Trump supporter, Ray Epps, was actually an undercover agent was basically just made up out of thin air. Yet Fox News and other right-wing media have been major contributors to this conspiracy staying alive. WAPO
Our crazy news media/social media environment allows people to hide from reality and believe crazy sh!t.
I'm not talking about the execrable racist, white supremacist, fascist types who love Trump for the reason that he is their best hope for political power.
No, I'm talking about normal people who have just been lied to by media they trust.
To believe that the FBI organized the Jan 6 insurrection is just stupid beyond belief. But, as we can see, there are people on this board willing to go there.
