When you’ve been in Washington long enough, you start to think you’ve seen every flavor of corruption. But then something like Kalshi comes along to remind you: no, the grift can always get worse. And now, it’s being gamified.
Kalshi, a betting platform that lets people wager on real-world events — everything from the weather to inflation to geopolitical crises — has crossed a dangerous new line. It now allows betting on political events. We’re not talking about fantasy football here. We’re talking about markets where you can bet actual money on things like:
What the U.S. tariff rates will be,
Whether a sitting senator will visit Syria before July,
The probability of new legislation passing,
And even election outcomes.
And who joined Kalshi as an advisor in January? Donald Trump Jr. You really can’t make this stuff upAdam Kinzinger

Good for him.
I learned from the left that it's A-okay to launder money in various way. Say, you have your crackhead Presidential son fling some paint on a canvas, call it "art" and then have your donors pay a few hundred thousand each for them. Nothing wrong with that!

Trading on a father’s name is unseemly, but does seem to be standard practice in Washington. I wouldn’t mind if this avenue of enrichment was tightened up. The problem, of course, is that family members of politicians cannot be prevented from making a living.
In Hunter’s case, that problem was compounded by the fact that there are no standards for answering the question: “What constitutes art?” and further “what is a piece of art worth?”
I’ve heard you make the argument Dope, on a number of occasions: “An object is worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay for it.”
Contrast that with what Don Jr. is getting ready to do- trade on insider information he has no business knowing

Not according to the democrats or the media. Absolutely refused to talk about it.

Again, you guys blew off and/or downplayed Hunter for years so you don't get to complain about Don Jr.

Stop being a child. You remind me of a boyhood froend who always tried to make up the rules.
What Hunter did was unseemly but probably not illegal. If Congress wants to make laws that tighten restrictions on children of politicians cashing in on their parents’ name, I’ll support that legislation.
What Don Jr. is getting ready to do is flat out illegal.
Sorry you can neither say why Hunter’s “art” is illegal, but are defending Don Jr. for planning to do worse.
Granted, Don Jr. hasn’t yet crossed the line with this gambling company (that we know of), but he has placed himself in the position of being able to bet on political decisions that he has advance knowledge about.
But Pam Bondi has already announced her mission priorities, and they do not include investigating anyone within 2 arms-lengths of Donald Trump.
The family is already criming out in the open.
Apparently, you are fine with it, even as you say nobody has the right to say anything about it.
