How the body handles recovery from fasting is the key point, not just the fact food being available again.

Don't knock it til you try it. I find I am more alert, better mood, and have more energy when I am doing intermittent fasting. Food tastes better and you tend to be more intentional about what you eat. I very much take food less for granted and approach it with a healthier attitude than when there are no restrictions. I have been doing it for several years now, and have no desire to change that. Occasionally, it is inconvenient to do IF, and I just get back to it as soon as it is practical, typically eagerly, as I want to get my usual IF energy back. The cruise we are going on in a month will be one of those "vacations" from IF, though I plan on staying low carb.

I seem to just naturally do it.

I can't eat for a few hours after I wake up. So, you have the hours between bed and dinner, then sleep, and then a few hours before I can eat. I routinely go about 14 hours between meals (overnight).
