by Thomas Stanley and William Danko

This is the largest published study/survey of the behaviors of millionaires, when they get up in the morning, what their levels of education are, things like that. However, while not billed as such, the most important chapters are Five and Six, sixty-plus pages dedicated to which behaviors contribute to the success or failure of their children.

Simply great information, which every parent should have. Not an indictment. Just information.

These are 4 personal finance books that I think give very sound general advice.

Pound Foolish: Exposing the Dark Side of the Personal Finance Industry by Helaine Olen looked at the bad advice that is sometimes given freely and sometimes given at great expense in the finical industry. I wish she would update it looking at fintech and finfluncers that have cropped up since she wrote this in 2012.

The Dumb Things Smart People Do with Their Money: Thirteen Ways to Right Your Financial Wrongs by Jill Schlesinger is useful for people who have started down the investing for retirement road and realize they are on the wrong road.

The Index Card: Why Personal Finance Doesn't Have to Be Complicated by Helaine Olen, Harold Pollack is the one book every person should read until they have the index card committed to memory.

The Great Money Reset: Change Your Work, Change Your Wealth, Change Your Life by Jill Schlesinger is for people who are looking to make a change in their work or life. She wrote this book during the pandemic because so many people were asking her advice on how to make those changes without blowing up their finances.
