Krugman is good today:
The Road to MechaHitler
https://substack.com/home/post/p-168507930

Why is AI a liberal-leaning technology?

It all goes back to Stephen Colbert’s dictum, almost 20 years ago, that “reality has a well-known liberal bias.” What he meant, of course, was that to be a conservative in good standing, you have to deny reality, which was true even then and is far more true now.

Krugman didn’t nail it. And Colbert was, and is, an idiot.

liberals chanted that the only plausible way for COVID to be what it was was from a pangolin. That the southern border was secure. That Joe Biden was sharp as a tack, Jack! That inflation was transitory. RussiaRussiaRussia. On and on.

Reality is what reality is. The problem liberals have is that…they don’t live in anything that resembles actually reality and couldn’t begin to process it if they could.

I get that most posters here need these KRuGMaN and what not pieces in much the same way that a 4-year old needs his woobie to fall asleep at night.

I'd pay good money to see you and Colbert debate.

And Colbert was, and is, an idiot.

Dope, like most right-wingers, has a very dim-witted sense of humor.

Nix. We said highly likely a racoon dog, and it still is one of the animals.

That the southern border was secure.

Never said that.

I'll skip the rest. But you got promised Epstein, and Trump can't give it to ya because he's likely a MAJOR PLAYER on that list. You elected a Deep State Pedo!

https://nypost.com/2024/04/16/us-news/mayorkas-tel...

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told lawmakers Tuesday that the US-Mexico border is “as secure as it can be” — adding that he did not “recall” admitting earlier this year that more than 85% of migrants apprehended at the southern frontier are released into the US.

You lose.

I'll skip the rest.

Yep. Better for you to quit while you’re behind.

“as secure as it can be”

Plain English. "As secure as it can be" (within the law and funds) is an admission that it can't ever be really secure in the strictest sense (due to the law and funds). Even now it isn't fully secure, but not due to the law, because it's totally impractical. But they've done what they can (within the law and funds) to secure it.
