Just a random thought, what if OpenAI ends up with the fate of Netscape.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netscape

For those that don't remember "back in the day" - a new company is first to capitalize (and I lose that term losely) on a major new technology trend, only to run into major competition (fair or unfair) and end up in second place in a winner takes all market...

Counter argument - AI isn't a winner takes all market?

Seems plausible.

I was planning on getting a paid tier of ChatGPT quite soon, to really learn and understand what it can and can't do.
But I recently decided to do the same with Gemini 3 instead.
One might speculate that I am not the first person to have this type of change of direction, nor the last. Maybe it will shift in another direction next year.

For the longer term, a better test might be, who has the data? Alphabet does spring to mind.
And who has the obscene profits to keep going full speed? Alphabet springs to mind again.

I've sold maybe 5/6 of my position in the latest price spike, but it's still meaningful and I plan to load up again on the next dip in apparent valuation levels. Presumably, with margin pressure from capex, entry points around 5-6 times sales will again work better than entry points above 10 times sales.

Been a great little while, that's for sure. Bought a boat load of ITM $90 calls in April for $75 and recently sold them for $236.

Jim
